A brief of the ISC and NGO:
India Sponsorship Committee (ISC) is a public charitable Trust registered under The Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 and has its registered office at 43/45, Mathuradas Estate Bldg., 1, 2nd Floor, Shahid Bhagat Singh Marg, Colaba, Mumbai 400001.
Our Programs
Our primary goal is to facilitate the holistic growth of underprivileged children in an environment that’s safe, nurturing, and supportive of their skills and talents to make them independent and contributing members of society. The manifestation of this philosophy is evident through four programs, currently working for communities in Lonavala and Pune.
Balgram – A children’s village that provides family-based care to nurture personal relationships, educational betterment, and skill development.
Aakar – A program for building 21st-century life skills and attitudes through guided interventions for gender equality and safety.
Antar Bharti Balgram School – Programs for formal, informal, and vocational learning to make education the transformative tool to reduce dropout rates and eradicate poverty.
Saksham – An empowerment program designed to mentor young women into becoming financially independent role models for the next generation.
Sarathi – Quality Settlement program for all ISC children aiding their career progression to attain financial independence.
About SAKSHAM Program:
India Sponsorship Committee, Pune program has been running its field programs in Pune, and surrounding areas of the district for more than 40 years. It started with direct sponsorship of students and later moved to community-based work.
Under the roof of ISC, we have the Saksham program, a livelihood training and security program to ensure that young adults receive relevant knowledge and technical skills to be market-ready and employment and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Goal of the Program: To provide Livelihood training and financial sustainability to women from marginalised communities
Key objectives of the program:
- Empoweringyoung girls and women from disadvantaged groups with employability skills in different market demand
- Productionand sale of apparel and home decor Proceeds of entrepreneurial initiatives given to women for financial independence.
INFO: SAKSHAM is an empowerment initiative that is designed to identify, test, train, coach, mentor and facilitate placement of young adults. This aims at moulding young girls and women from vulnerable communities into becoming independent and confident earning members of their community. The impact will be seen in them becoming the champions of financial independence and sustainability and role models to the younger generations.
Under the “SAKSHAM” program, certified courses are made available to women. Basic and advanced tailoring, beauty and wellness, mehndi Art, and photography professional courses are offered to women through the organization. Working or unemployed women with poor economic conditions, low educational qualifications, domestic responsibilities, and gender-imposed constraints are our key beneficiaries. After successful completion of the courses, women strive to become financially empowered.
Since its inception in 2020, over 500 women and young girls have benefitted by getting trained in skill development programs like photography, driving, banking finance, and stitching-tailoring to name a few. The program is further set to expand to new geographical locations.
SAKSHAM at present has two retail outlets for product sales which come under the stitching-tailoring unit, where every product on display is handmade with immense love.

ISC organizes events and explores product showcases throughout the year to empower young adults.
We appeal to the corporate sector, businessmen and women, the public, and individual sponsors to support our program which will go towards covering the cost of PR.
